Shmooze with Jews

With almost 20 Chanichim in attendance we had such a blast having discussions and studying with Mads & Chanichim last Friday night.
Thank you BA for running such a great programme and thank you Chanichim for joining in the fun!

cholent kiddush (1).png

Thanks for coming! Want to sponsor the next one?

Last Shabbat we enjoyed a yummy Cholent to follow the
Shabbat morning service. It was great watching everyone participate in a traditional Jewish dish, made in many different synagogues around the world, for a Shabbat Kiddush or lunch.
If you would like to sponsor a Cholent Kiddush it is simple, affordable and satisfying :)

Bar & Bat Mitzvah- WHAT IS WHAT?!

Torah, Oral Torah, Nevieim, Ktuvim, Mishnah, Talmud, Rishonim, Achronim- WHAT DOES ALL THIS ACTUALLY MEAN?!
We had a great and informative class last Sunday with our BM group. There was a lot of information in a short period of time but such important information we all should know.
Our class did an amazing job and despite the challenging subjects, most of them were able to stay focused for the whole class.
We finished off with a fun Pesach quiz and had a winning group who rocked it!
Looking forward to next class :)

Conversational Hebrew Club

What is Pesach? Why do we celebrate it? What does the word Pesach (Passover) mean? And more!
We learnt Hebrew words and how to combine them in a sentence.
Needless to say, we finished off with yummy Chametz biscuits!
Love these kids.

JNA

Last night we had such a great time bowling with the best JNA group. Some of us were better than others but the laughter was worth it! After dinner at Aotea square we went bowling and had some (non-alcoholic) drinks.
L'Chaim to another great night and looking forward to next time :)

Shared Table

Thanks to Gael Keren and as part of Peace Week at the university, this Wednesday night, Muslims, Jews and Christian students enjoyed a night together. It was about trying to create a safe zone for everyone - all our youth and young adults represented us with pride and maturity.
At the end of the event Noam spoke on behalf of the Jewish community and expressed how important the value of peace, “Shalom”, is in Judaism. He quoted Rabbi Shimon Ben Gamliel who said: “Three things preserve the world, truth, justice and peace.” He then explained that peace takes precedence, even over truth.
We would like to thank Gael for organizing such an important and enjoyable evening and our youth for making the time and attending.

Shabbat Shalom!
Wishing you all a peaceful, healthy and happy Shabbat with your family and friends.
