Bar & Bat Mitzvah Class - Chodesh Elul & Tikkun Olam

This week, we explored Chodesh Elul as a time to pause, look inward, and think about who we are and who we want to become. We began with a simple mirror activity and discussed the idea of “The King is in the Field”, as well as the shofar as a wake-up call to pay more attention to our choices and actions.

We then played a board game about Tikkun Olam, exploring how small, everyday actions can make a difference to the people and world around us. 🌎

Getting Ready for Rosh Hashanah 🍎🍯

On Wednesday, we visited the preschool for a special Rosh Hashanah activity. We baked round challot with the children, and each child took their own challah home to enjoy with their family.

We also had a short Rosh Hashanah seder after Ariel and Tomer were blowing the Shofar, lighting candles, making Kiddush, and tasting some of the traditional simanim, including pomegranate, apple and honey, and dates. We even had a chance to see a fish head and learn about its connection to the New Year!

It was a lovely, hands-on way to celebrate and get ready for Rosh Hashanah together. 🍎🍯✨
