Bar & Bat Mitzvah class - The High Holidays

This week, we learnt about the upcoming High Holidays. We were talking about Rosh HaShanah and the different customs we have - such as Shofar, Tashlich and apples & honey. Each group got a custom and they had to research and present that custom in front of the class.

We continued our class learning about Yom Kippur and Cheshbon Nefesh - the act of self-examination and atonment we focus on during this time.

Lastly, we watched a video about the making of Shofar and even had the chance to try and blow the Shofar ourselves!

Kristin College Visit

On Tuesday and Thursday, we had visitors from Year 7 at Kristin College, who came to learn about Judaism and the origins of our beliefs.

We were talking about the meaning of Hashem, how we incorporate Judaism in our daily lives and we showed them many different Jewish items - the Torah Scroll, Shofar, Siddur, Tefillin and more.

Holidays season is over, and we are grateful for this great month! It was wonderful to see so many community members during the services and different activities, and we hope to keep seeing you around :)
