Hello! we’re the new Shlichim, Nadav & Hodaya Pearl and here’s a recap of everything since we arrived:
Time flies when you’re having fun, and these past two weeks have been filled with big and small moments of joy, adjustment, and family excitement.
Celebrating Tzur's first birthday in the Community 🎉
Our journey here started with a huge milestone, Tzur celebrated his first birthday! Just before the end of the Tefila, they asked whose birthday it was and of course we brought up Tzur. As is local tradition, they sang to him in three different languages. Tzur, of course, was over the moon, soaking up every second of attention and love from everyone around him, while we enjoyed the cool way to celebrate! you should've seen the huge smile on his face.
A Breath of Nature 🏝️
On the long weekend, we took some time to catch our breath and take in the mind-blowing scenery the north Island has to offer. The Rabbi and his wife took us on a trip to Piha.
Shabbat Together and New Beginnings 🏠👶
Over the past week, most of our energy went into moving into our new house and helping Tzur adjust to his new Kindy. But over the weekend, we paused to recharge with the community; on Friday, we had Kab Shab with the Bnei Mads followed by a warm meal with them at the Rabbi's house and on shabbat, we joined the Rabbi and his family once more as they hosted travelers for a meal together. There’s really nothing like that feeling of a home away from home.
On Sunday we started working with the kids in the Bnei Mitzvah programme on their end of year projects and will be working on them for the next month or so as we dive into their interests in Judaism!
We started this new week with renewed energy and kicked off the morning with sweet prayers with the kids at the Kadimah school and Tzur officially took his first steps into daycare!
