Shabbat Shoftim
We are heartbroken with the passing of Mr John Barnett this week.
Our thoughts are with Sarah, Linda, Robin and the extended family at this time, wishing you all long life.
John was a remarkable person who volunteered, donated and cared for the community for many years, leaving a mark in the heart of every person he met.
He will be deeply missed.
Our Visit to Israel 😊
Over the last few weeks, we were visiting our families in Israel, some of them meeting Arbel for the first time, and enjoying some summer days.
Here are some highlight moments from our time in Israel:
Bar & Bat Mitzvah Class - Rosh Chodesh Elul
This week, our session has begun with a festive service and a light brunch, celebrating the new month of Elul. We moved on to our class, where we discussed the meaning of Teshuvah - the Jewish concept of repentance, of which we will focus through out this month, leading us to Rosh Hashanah and the new year.
Christians for Israel’s visit in Shule
On Tuesday, we had a special visit of Christians for Israel. Roni was talking with them about the different Jewish traditions, the current war in Israel and the concerning uprising of Anti-Semitism in New Zealand and concluded with a tour in the Holocaust Memorial Garden. It was a meaningful and unique visit and we are very grateful for this opportunity.
Wishing you all Shabbat Shalom,
Ariel, Roni, Tomer and Arbel HaCohen :)
