Shabbat Parashat Noach

Rafi’s Bar Mitzvah!

This Shabbat we celebrated Rafi’s Bar Mitzvah and enjoyed every minute of hearing Rafi read from the Torah. We felt so proud watching him stand up there with so much confidence and charisma and show us all how to make an amazing speech!
It is a busy few weeks with exciting Bar & Bat Mitzvahs coming up and we feel we have been given such a gift by having our Sunday classes with this amazing group.
It is incredible to see the difference between their beginning point at the start of the year and their ending point at the end of the year.
All these young teens have come such a long way and we are extremely proud and excited for them to be stepping into the next chapter of their lives.
Thank you Rafi & family for a wonderful and delicious Shabbat.
On to the next amazing celebration- Theo Robinson- we are SO excited for you!! Looking forward to celebrating together this week, we are sure your Torah reading will be just as good as your sense of humour : )

Shalom court here we come!

This week’s Bar & Bat Mitzvah group worked very hard on a program to run at Shalom Court when we visit there for our next class.
We split into three small groups and planned an art program, a musical program and worked on a handmade, NZ and Jewish history themed bingo game.
We had a blast planning and making these fun activities and are so excited to be visiting the elders soon!

Bnei Akiva Masterchef

Food is always a fun afternoon activity!
Yummy cookies and some warm latkas left a very positive impression on our Masterchef judges.
With happy kids and happy Madrichim we had a fun Sunday at the AHC.

Hebrew Club

Havdalah themed Hebrew club is rocking these past few weeks.
Now that we have made “Besamim” we need to make sure we have the blessing in front of us and can say it properly. This week, each student created their own board with the blessing on it and can now practice saying the blessings at home with their homemade Bracha and Besamim.
It was lots of fun!

Dinner with BA leaders

It has been a while since we have been able to meet and have some fun together.
Reoccurring lockdown and exams won’t beat us! We finally did it : )
Italian style food and lots of good company kept us going till midnight. . . Loved every minute : )

JNA Speed Dating

We had such a blast getting to know each other a bit better! Although no one walked out with their one and only, it was definitely a fun speed dating night.
Sometimes the most simple questions lead to the deepest conversations. . .
And just like Judaism teaches us, may we always be humble enough to ask questions and never assume we know the answer.
On Tuesday night these amazing teens asked away. . . and it was pretty funny. . .
Nothing like some yummy burgers & fries for a good date : )
Love this group, love these kids. . .

Unity is the key to all

It is now the second year we will be bringing the Shabbat project to Auckland and with it, the GREAT BIG CHALLAH BAKE!
With all communities involved, this night for women is all about getting together and enjoying each other while we celebrate an amazing side of Judaism.
We encourage all you women and young women to join along and take part in such a special event that happens only once a year.
