What an amazing weekend it was! For 4 days, the Chanichim from our oldest Shevet were bonding, learning what it means to be a madrich and talking about different Shnat (gap year) programmes.
A huge Kol Hakavod to the mads who created and planned the seminar, led by Hana our Incredible Mazkira! We are grateful for having you all with us 🤍
Yom HaZikaron Ceremony at Beth Shalom
On Monday night, we participated in the meaningful Yom HaZikaron Ceremony that took place at Beth Shalom and led by the Zionist Federation.
Yom HaZikaron Ceremony with Kadimah School
On Tuesday Mornind, Yom HaZikaron, we held a ceremony - led by year 7 - to remember the fallen soliders and people. Rabbi Netanel shared a story about his friend, Maoz Morell, who fell during the Iron Swords war.
Yom HaZikaron to Yom Ha’Atzmaut - Transition Ceremony and Celebrations 🤍💙
On Tuesday night, we hed a special event - a transition ceremony, from Yom HaZikaron to Yom HaAtzmaut. We also added in an Israeli tradition - that we hope to turn into a New Zealand tradition as well - Torch Lighting Ceremony, in which we chose 4 from the volunteers in the community to light a torch in honor of their contribution to the wide Jewish community in Auckland.
Later, we had a musical Ma’ariv, celebrating this womderful day, followed by fireworks and celebrations in the hall. It was such a great day!
Yom Ha’Atzmaut Celebrations with Kadimah Students
On Wednesday, Yom Ha’Atzmaut, we celebrated the day with Kadimah students. Along with Yaniv and Rinat, we ran fun activities like solving puzzles of Israel’s symbol, playing “Deal or No Deal” with questions about Israel, and decorating yummy cupcakes in blue and white :)
