Parashat Emor
Bar & Bat Mitzvah Class- Israel and me 🤍💙
This Sunday, we spent time exploring a big and meaningful question: what is our connection to Israel?
We began with a large map of Israel, where the children got to discover places, distances and interesting facts that helped turn something far away into something a little more real and familiar.
In the second part of the session, we moved into a more reflective conversation. Using the song Rivers of Babylon, which is based on Psalm 137, we spoke about longing, belonging, and what it means for a place to feel like home.
The children shared openly, listened to one another and reflected in their own ways on their connection to Israel, as a country, as a land and as a people. Rather than looking for one “right answer,” we focused on making space for personal questions and honest thought, each child taking something a little different with them from the conversation.
