Machane The Joowds - Winter Camp 2026 ✨
What a wonderful camp we have had last week!
The camp was led by Sam (Rosh Machane) and Bayley (sgan) with our incredible Madrichim. The Chanichim were learning and discussing the past, present and future of Bnei Akiva, of the Jewish community in NZ and of the world as a whole from the Jewish prospective and enjoyed many fun and special activities led by the mads.
We are grateful for the amazing Madrichim, the kitchen team and all parents who helped us in any way possible. We couldn’t have done it without you all!

Last Camp Message 🤍
Dear Bnei Akiva New Zealand family,
As we finish our last Bnei Akiva camp as Shlichim, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you.
To our chanichim, thank you for letting us be part of your journey. Watching so many of you join Bnei Akiva, find your place, grow within your shevet, and become leaders for the younger chanichim has been one of the greatest privileges of our shlichut.
To our madrichim, thank you. We’ve shared peulot, Shabbatonim, Kabbalat Shabbat, opening seminars, Madsems, camps, late-night meetings, and for some of you, even the Mazkirut. Watching you grow into such caring and dedicated leaders has made us incredibly proud.
And to all the parents, thank you for volunteering and supporting the kids and mads, for trusting us with your children and for welcoming us into your lives.
People often say that Shlichim come to teach. The truth is that we’ve learned just as much from this community as we’ve ever taught.
If there’s one message we’d like to leave you with, it’s this: be yourselves. Keep asking questions, keep learning, be proud of your Judaism, and keep bringing light into the world.
Working with people also means that sometimes we make mistakes. If there was ever a moment when we were too firm, misunderstood someone, or unintentionally hurt anyone, we are truly sorry and ask for your forgiveness.
Although our shlichut will only come to an end in October, this was our last Bnei Akiva camp. As we look ahead to returning to Israel, we want you to know that we’re not saying goodbye to you. Our home in Israel will always be open to every one of you, whether you’re visiting, coming for Shnat, or making Aliyah.
Thank you for three unforgettable years. We love you all, and we can’t wait to see many of you again, whether over the next few months here in New Zealand or in Israel.
Bevirkat Chaverim LeTorah V'Avodah,
With love,
Ariel & Roni (and Tomer & Arbel, of course!) 🫶🏼
Wishing you all Shabbat Shalom,
Ariel, Roni, Tomer and Arbel HaCohen :)
